Fantasy Ride A Flop?

Word has it that Ciara's third studio album 'Fantasy Ride is on the verge of only selling in the 70-80k range. Surprisingly, her biggest competition is Chrisette Michele who also released her new album 'Epiphany.' Ci Ci will perform this weekend on 'Saturday Night Live,' so that will probably give her album a boost...maybe? source

I can see Chrisette Michele's album doing well since it's being sold for $2.99 all week at Amazon and not to mention it's a great record. But 70-80k for Ciara? Damn, even an old, recycled track from Justin Timberlake with a hawt video couldn't save her. Wow.

A Look Into Creole World

Lil' Kim's Dance Partner Was Afraid Of Her?

I for one was so shocked when Lil' Kim was voted off of 'Dancing With The Stars.' Honestly, I never watched that show until this season, when Kim appeared. I thought that she would at least be one of the top two, if not win the whole damn thing. But it seems that her dance partner Derek Hough was afraid of her at first.

"When I first saw it was Lil' Kim, I was nervous...I was like, 'I think I'm going to get shanked in the middle of a dance.' I'm serious. But the second she walked in there she was like a beam of energy, so sweet and so nice. As the weeks went by, I just love her more and more and more, and I'm really excited to spend some time with her without teaching her and drilling her."

Hmmm...Kim didn't take offense to it. But his comment still doesn't sit right with me. source

Oprah's Causing Riots

Remember those free chicken coupons Oprah gave out on her website? Because of that, all hell broke loose. source

"I just returned from my lunch break hoping to use the attached couponto score some free KFC grilled chicken at the mid town location 47 E.42nd Street. Well I guess around 200 people also had the same ideawith coupons in hand....When I finally gave up (after 30 minutes of aguing with othercustomers) a small RIOT started going on outside the store with peoplescreaming at the manager while he wont let them use their free KFCcoupons (issued by OPRAH)"

A race war almost insued too:
"I went over to our nearest KFC a few minutes ago (this was around 42nd and Park)and chaos ensued. Despite the very visible grilled chicken behind the register, the manager told everyone with coupons to leave and that the promotion was over for the day. The people there are currently holding a sit-in and refusing to leave until they get their free chicken...or the cops are called. Racial epithets were being spewed, people who actually wanted to pay for chicken were facing a potential beatdown, and the manager ran from the screaming horde. Oprah, what have ye wrought?"

Michael Jackson Facing Lawsuits

Remember the leading lady in Michael Jackson's legendary video 'Thriller?' Well, she's now suing MJ saying that she hasn't been paid royalties and that she only got paid around $900 dollars. The former Playboy Playmate is suing for breach of contract because she claims she never got her cut of the "Thriller" profits.

That's right, the video premiered 25 years ago and now she's suing. lol

MJ's also getting sued by his spokeswoman Raymone Bain. She says, "Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations of our contractual relationship, despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter. I am sincerely disappointed in Mr. Jackson's failure to honor his obligations." source

Jamie Foxx Wants To Play Mike Tyson In Biopic

Jamie Foxx says he wants to bring Mike Tyson's life story to the movie screen and believes that he's the one that can portray him. He says:

"I think I would have to play Mike Tyson. I've talked to Mike several times and his story is the most tragic American story...Mike's story is
about what America and the world is about today...Coming up at 18 years old and getting his $60 million and not teaching him what taxes are about, about vultures, about people who will never be real with you as long as you have the money...I'm working on securing the rights to the movie." source

I think Jamie is a very talented actor and I do believe that he could pull it off unlike some other wannabe "actors" *cough*Beyonce. But is it wise for him to portray another life figure after already receiving the highest of accolades for his portrayal of Ray Charles?

Its seems that Mrs. Obama's shoes have created a bit of controversy.

First Lady Michelle Obama is catching some flak for sporting pricey sneakers while volunteering at a food bank here with congressional spouses. The footwear has been identified by sharp eyed fashion mavens as made by the French design house Lanvin and costing more than $500. The congressional spouse bagging groceries with the First Lady is a fellow Illinoisan—Bob Creamer, the husband of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.).

Naomi Campbell continues to put the fashion industry on blast for not hiring black models. Oscar De La Renta, recently criticized Mrs. Obama for not wearing high-end designers. Naomi says:

"Why would she concern herself with mainstream designers who don't even put their clothes on women who look like her in ads or fashion shows?'' source

Beysus is in talks to play Eartha Kitt in a biopic. She says:

"I was going to do a film about Eartha Kitt. It's a great story, but I don't know if it's still happening....If it does, it'll just fall into place."

What is the deal with Hollywood producers? Whether they realize it or not, there are many super-talented black actresses in Hollywood who could play this role and thrive. This could be a potential Oscar winning role, for an actress with actual talent that is. I know plenty of Queen Creole stans who are mentally fit to realize that the bish CAN'T ACT. I doubt this chick could play herself effectively in a movie. SMDH source
