Beyonce's Practically Giving Concert Tickets Away

We all know that beYAWNce's tour isn't selling, so I guess Pimpin' Matthew decided to get a clue. Folks will be able to get tickets for as low as $20. 1,000 specially priced seats for each show will be available by the end of the week to a stan near you. Since it's so cheap, maybe I'll buy a ticket....Just to throw tomatoes at the stage. HA! source

Shoegate 2009

Its seems that Mrs. Obama's shoes have created a bit of controversy.

First Lady Michelle Obama is catching some flak for sporting pricey sneakers while volunteering at a food bank here with congressional spouses. The footwear has been identified by sharp eyed fashion mavens as made by the French design house Lanvin and costing more than $500. The congressional spouse bagging groceries with the First Lady is a fellow Illinoisan—Bob Creamer, the husband of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.).
I didn't hear many conservatives complaining about Cindy McCain's RNC outfit that cost $300,000. source

Naomi Campbell continues to put the fashion industry on blast for not hiring black models. Oscar De La Renta, recently criticized Mrs. Obama for not wearing high-end designers. Naomi says:

"Why would she concern herself with mainstream designers who don't even put their clothes on women who look like her in ads or fashion shows?'' source

Does this chick resemble Beyonce to you? While Bey was in Vienna this week buying new lace fronts and pins for her Kelly Rowland voodoo doll, a local radio station choose to play a prank by hiring a Beyonce lookalike to visit certain sites around town, including a tour of a art museum. After a while the people at the museum realized that something was up. "Her face was extremely similar, but her body was totally different," said Verena Dahlitz, the museum's spokeswoman said of the Beyonce imposter, after her initial suspicion had been confirmed. source
Chrysler will file for bankruptcy protection supposedly. The government has given them so many billions of our tax dollars, but it looks as if it weren't enough to keep Chrysler from going bankrupt. But that doesn't mean that the automaker will shut down and the company is expected to still partner up with the European car company, Fiat. Whatever. source

Lady Gaga "touched down in London town" today. She recently talked about a past rendezvous of hers in the back of a taxicab: “[It was] in the back of a taxi in New York. It was fun. I would do it again, f**k ya. It’s always fun to do things that are sneaky. Sneaky in sex is good.” I love this chick. I just like her acentric style. Somebody had better tell Rihanna to hurry up and get back on the music scene. I think I have a new girl crush. source

First Couple Barack and Michelle Obama released their tax returns today. They earned a combined $2,656,902 last year, which mainly came from the sales of the president's two books. They paid a total of $933,206 in federal and state taxes. They received a $26,000 tax refund. source

Former hit-making producer Scott Storch was arrested last Friday for grand theft auto. Scotty boy supposedly began leasing an Bentley GT from Atlas Leasing Company, the owners of the vehicle, back in February 2006. The owners claim that Scott Storch has caused them to lose about $65,000 in profit because he had not turned over the car and he hasn't been paying on it either. source

Tax Evaders: Dionne Warwick And Sinbad

California's budget deficit would shrink by nearly $5 million if singer Dionne Warwick and comedian Sinbad Adkins would pay their taxes. They are among the state's biggest tax scofflaws, according to a report issued Thursday by the Franchise Tax Board. Sinbad owes $2.5 million in personal income tax while Warwick owes $2.2 million, putting them in the top 10 of the state's 250 worst tax debtors. source

Fox To Make Reality Show Out Of People's Misery

The Fox network is letting employees of some troubled small businesses decide which one of their colleagues will be laid off and turning the results into a reality show. The series, "Someone's Gotta Go," is in production, but Fox wouldn't say on Wednesday when it would go on the air. Each episode will feature a company with about 15 or 20 employees that needs to cut costs because of the economy. Instead of the boss deciding who is fired, the company will open its books to show everyone's salaries and let the employees make the call. In an inverse to "The Apprentice," the chosen one loses, instead of gets, a job.
Fox says the laid-off worker will get a small severance, but isn't saying whether the network or producers are paying the participants in anything beyond the chance for prime-time fame.

I really don't believe that televising people losing their jobs is entertaining especially since every month the unemployment rates go up and there are so many people looking for work. You stay classy, Fox. source

In The News: 1 In 10 Americans Are Using Food Stamps

A record 32.2 million people -- one in every 10 Americans -- received food stamps at the latest count. "A weakened economy means that many more individuals are turning to SNAP/Food Stamps," said the Food Research and Action Center, an anti-hunger group, using the acronym for the renamed food stamp program, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program.
