The footwear has been identified by sharp eyed fashion mavens as made by the French design house Lanvin and costing more than $500. The congressional spouse bagging groceries with the First Lady is a fellow Illinoisan—Bob Creamer, the husband of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.).

Naomi Campbell continues to put the fashion industry on blast for not hiring black models. Oscar De La Renta, recently criticized Mrs. Obama for not wearing high-end designers. Naomi says:

Both Rihanna and Kanye West are hitting fragrance deals because both are linked to Jay-Z's Iconic Fragrances company. Parlux Fragrances Inc. have signed an agreement with the company to create scents for the both. Kanye West and Rihanna's scents will hit store selves by the summer of 2010.

This is interesting because the fragrance market, I think, has been a bit over saturated with a load of celebrities having their own fragrance bottles. Kim Kardashian has a fragrance in the works too. So who's next? Jim Jones? Lil' Wayne? Ewww, nevermind. source

Naomi Campbell has called out the modeling world before for constantly shutting out models of color. But even as the president of the most powerful country in the world being a person of color and his wife being a brown skinned black woman, she says that in the modeling world, things have actually gotten worse:

I always have to work harder to be treated equally,” the runway model explained to a German addition of Glamour magazine.....In the past, there were more opportunities for black models but the trend towards blond women has again become extreme. "American fashion right now is struggling," says Oscar de la Renta. "I think I understand what [Obama and her advisers] are doing, but I don't think that is the right message at this particular point....I don't object to the fact that Mrs. Obama is wearing J. Crew to whatever because the diversity of America is what makes this country great. But there are a lot of great designers out there. I think it's wrong to go in one direction only."

Mrs. Obama is in a no-win situation. If she wears clothing by the big shot expensive designers, some would complain and say that she shouldn't wear such high-priced clothing when so many people are struggling. If she wears inexpensive clothing, then the big name designers get upset. Let the woman wear what ever the hell she wants. SOURCE
