Tyrese Is Catching Some Heat

While performing the national anthem for Game 5 of the NBA Conference Finals between the Lakers and Nuggets, Tyrese decided to pull a switcheroo. He replaced the words, "our flag was still there" with "our Lakers were still there." Needless to say, it upset some people. Honestly, I didn't see anything wrong with it and it's so obvious that he meant no harm. I also don't remember anyone claiming when New York Jets fans sing the anthem and end it with, "And the home of the, JETS!" But a lot of people in this country suffer from selective outrage. source

Prom Night: Separate But Equal Style

The ghosts of segregation live on. So much for living in a post-racial society.

Racially segregated proms have been held in Montgomery County — where about two-thirds of the population is white — almost every year since its schools were integrated in 1971. Such proms are, by many accounts, longstanding traditions in towns across the rural South, though in recent years a number of communities have successfully pushed for change. When the actor Morgan Freeman offered to pay for last year’s first-of-its-kind integrated prom at Charleston High School in Mississippi, his home state, the idea was quickly embraced by students — and rejected by a group of white parents, who held a competing “private” prom. (The effort is the subject of a documentary, “Prom Night in Mississippi,” which will be shown on HBO in July.) The senior proms held by Montgomery County High School students — referred to by many students as “the black-folks prom” and “the white-folks prom” — are organized outside school through student committees with the help of parents. All students are welcome at the black prom, though generally few if any white students show up. The white prom, students say, remains governed by a largely unspoken set of rules about who may come. Black members of the student council say they have asked school administrators about holding a single school-sponsored prom, but that, along with efforts to collaborate with white prom planners, has failed. According to Timothy Wiggs, the outgoing student council president and one of 21 black students graduating this year, “We just never get anywhere with it.” Principal Luke Smith says the school has no plans to sponsor a prom, noting that when it did so in 1995, attendance was poor. source

Spectacular: "I Ain't Gay"

Pretty Ricky's Sexy Spec speaks out on the much clowned on stripper video. He says that the video wasn't for men to view and any man who watched the entire video should question their own sexuality. He claims that the women who attend his concerts enjoy his gyrations. Honestly, I didn't have much of a problem with the video. I'm more bothered by the new group member who named himself after women's underwear. SMH

I Weep For My People

Here we have a father at the age of 29 already with 21 kids...No, it's not a typo, he has 21 children! They range in ages 11 years old to newborn, with at least 11 different mothers. What else can you say when you see sh*t like this? Contraceptives were invented for a reason people. We can definitely slam this fool for being so irresponsible, but what about the women? Don't they play a big part in this foolishness? They were willing to lay down and have unprotected sex with this fool knowing that he was making babies all over town. We see Bristol Palin, being puppeteered by her bible-thumping mother, preaching abstinence. But people have to start being realistic and start seriously teaching and emphasizing primarily to young people about the necessity of protection. Not just as a birth control method but also as a protection from diseases. I'm worried about those 21 kids psychologically. SMDH

Will Chris Brown Open For Michael Jackson?

I seriously doubt it, with all of the controversy and legal battles surrounding him. But that hasn't stopped some from believing that this could come true. It would be great to see the two of them on the same stage, since Chris (not to mention Usher, JT, Omarion) is a MJ replica. Does this mean that it's back to the basement to twitter her life away for Solange?

Here's C. Breezy's tribute to Michael Jackson at the 2008 World Music Awards:

L’Oreal Is At It Again

L'Oreal has whitewashed Frieda Pinto in its newest campaign ad. Could they be doing this on purpose or is this just a result of lighting and airbrushing? A while back, the cosmetics company did a number on beYAWNce. But I'm sure she didn't mind, with her being "creole" and being "jealous" that she's not a Latina.

Don't Mess With Tyra

Supermodel Paula Porizkova said she was fired from “America’s Next Top Model” because of what producers called an ego problem. She says:
"I must admit I was having a little bit of an issue with Tyra being late for every judging...It’s six hours later and I feel like I am being told my time is not as valuable as hers. They pointed out that I should shut up and be grateful for the job and that Tyra is really busy...I think that my little hissy fits about ‘Well, we are all here on time. Why can’t she (Tyra)?’ didn’t go over all that well."

Noooooo! Not You Too Rih Rih!

Pop the hood for the pics of a nude Rihanna. OMG!
Update: Oh f*ck it, I posted the pics anyway.

Seriously Cassie?

Is this girl really that desperate for album sales? When t*tty pics dropped I didn't think that it was that bad. Plus the pics were harmless, but this is just ridiculous. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't be surprised if Diddy was behind this. I'm not buying the "hacker" explanation at all.

The NSFW pic is under the hood.

Girl Fight! Girl Fight!

Looks like Pussycat Melody Thornton is getting a little tired of playing Kelly Rowland to Nicole Scherzinger's Beyonce. The Pussycat Dolls are on tour with Britney Spears and at their Phoenix concert Melody got some stress off of her chest. Can't say that I blame her. Melody is equally if not more talented than Nicole Flopzinger. We always see how things take a turn for the worst when a girl is told to be in the background when that same girl is just as or more talented as the lead singer. (Florence Ballard from The Supremes to Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child)

Asher Roth Gets Reckless

The story is that he finished performing at Rutgers U, and started posting via Twitter. With one post he says "hanging out with nappy headed hos" a la Don Imus. After some people commented that they were offended by that, he apologized. Hmm...These celebs need to start thinking things out before they type. Twitter can be an enemy. I believe it's the debil. source

Miss Cali Stirs Controversy

At the Miss USA pageant, things got a little testy when Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was asked by Perez Hilton if gay marriage should be legal in all 50 states. She basically answered no and said that marriage should be between a man and a woman only. Well some people, including Miss Cali herself, now believe that she lost the competition because of that. She says:

"It did cost me my crown.....I wouldn't have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that's all I
can do."

Needless to say, her answer was not the one Perez Hilton, who is gay (obviously), was looking for:

Kim Kardashian Speaks Out

I think that everyone by now is aware of the furor that is Kim KardASShian's (Dlisted's term not mine) cellulite ass. Complex mag "mistakenly" put up an untouched pic of Kim, but quickly replaced it with the retouched photo. Honestly, I believe that this was done on purpose as a PR stunt, but anyway, Kim speaks on the "controversy" on her blog saying:

So everyone has been putting up these pics from Complex Magazine showing the comparison of the original un-photoshopped photo that mistakenly was put up on complex.com......Complex later replaced the pic with the photoshopped version, causing all of this drama. But you know what, who cares! So what: I have a little cellulite. What curvy girl doesn't!? How many people do you think are photoshopped? It happens all the time!I'm proud of my body and my curves and this picture coming out is probably helpful for everyone to see that just because I am on the cover of a magazine doesn't mean I'm perfect.

She makes a good point, I mean damn, looking at her sister's PETA photo, they must be one happy airbrushed family.
